Up for a new hair colour?

Lots of people consider their natural hair colour as boring after a while and crave change. A new hair colour can easily and quickly bring new swing into your hairstyle. Colouring your hair cannot only prevent boredom, but it also helps to keep your natural hair colour, once the hair starts going grey. The colour selection is nearly endless – from subtle to loud colours, everything is possible. There are no limits while choosing the personal dream colour, but the colour result will depend on the current colour of the hair and whether it has been colour treated before. Darker colours can easily be applied to the hair, but going lighter is not that easy. In order to lighten the hair, most of the time it has to be bleached first.

Temporary hair colour vs. semi-permanent hair colour

Depending on the type of hair colour, the natural colour will be covered for a different time span. A temporary hair colour will be gone after washing the hair for the first time after application. This kind of colour is ideal if you simply want to try out a new colour without committing to it at all. Semi-permanent hair colour lasts somewhat longer, as it stays in the hair for between 2 to 10 washes. Demi-permanent colours will last even longer and permanent colours do not wash out in the traditional way – they have to grow out and be cut off. With permanent colours, the roots have to be coloured about once a month to keep them from showing.
